Woods, Goods and Services Online Sale
Oak Weather Station
Over the years our Northeast Kingdom volunteers and supporters have made our work possible. Many of these volunteers are also craftspeople in their own right. Our Woods, Goods and Services online sale is a demonstration of their skill and artistry. All proceeds will benefit NEK Habitat for Humanity. Visit our sale catalog.

May/June 2021 Update on NEK Habitat for Humanity Operations
Beginning May 1, we will begin to hold in-person Board and Committee meetings in our offices with fully vaccinated participants. As appropriate and as requested, we will also continue using Zoom for Board and Committee meetings, as well as for meetings with potential applicants. Our office will remain closed to the unvaccinated public until further notice.
Patricia Janssen, our General Manager, works in the office three days a week, monitoring email messages, returning phone calls and, with the help of the NEK Board and its committees, generally keeping our mission moving forward.
Download the application for the 2021 Critical Home Repair program here. In June/July, we will start scheduling site visits and planning repair projects.
On July 10, we will be holding an event for volunteers: orientation, safety and tool training, networking and lunch.
We are grateful to those of you who have continued to support us financially. Your help will make all the difference as we navigate 2021. Download the flyer for the Volunteer event here.
Thank you for your understanding as we continue to prioritize the safety of our volunteers, staff, and our NEK neighbors.
Building It Forward: Homes, Communities, Hope + You
Now, more than ever, we need you.
As a result of COVID-19 over 300 million people in 42 states have been asked to stay at home through a myriad of shelter-in-place/safer at home orders. The scope and coordination of these orders are unprecedented and have led to a near halt of the US economy and over 16 million people losing their jobs.
In addition to the economic impact, these directives have also shined light on underlying housing issues that many Americans face.
Low income households are particularly at risk as a result of their economic instability and their concentration in service industry and other hourly jobs that are at risk as a result of COVID-19 disruptions.
In an estimated 12 million of these households, at least one contributing member work in an at-risk industry.
The economic crisis created by efforts to contain COVID-19 has placed unprecedented stress on the financial sustainability of Habitat affiliates, resulting in limited support for its homeowners at the time when they need it most.
COVID-19 has stopped everyone in their tracks:
-
Everyone has been affected by this global public health crisis and the accompanying economic shocks.
-
Everyone has been forced to consider the fundamental importance of home — of having safe, decent and affordable shelter.
Donating now to Habitat in the Northeast Kingdom can help ensure our ability, as well as our sustainability, to continue to serve our neighbors.
